Barobo wasn't really a well-known place back then; there weren't a lot of people who lived here. One of the most well-known and cleanest springs in the Philippines is Bogac Cold Spring in Barobo, Surigao Del Sur. According to our interviewee, Mrs. Constancia Taculod, there is no exact year when the bogac was discovered. Back then, Bogac wa already wide, but it wasn't fixed yet. Bogac was surrounded by a lot of trees called "balete" and "nipa". Mrs. Constancia said that there was a person who died there while doing laundry. There was also a belief that there was a mythical creature who lived there. Bogac was a place where everyone could visit without paying an entrance fee. It was not really well-known before; people used to go there and wash clothes. There wasn't a lot of tourists from different places. In addition, the barangay gym was a Macopa River before; it was formed like a lake and connected to Bogac Cold Spring.
